The Elsewhere Studio is a space for shared inquiry across the arts and humanities. It brings together people who are interested in thinking, making, and exploring ideas in ways that do not fit neatly within existing categories.
Purpose
The Elsewhere exists to create a non-academic environment where ideas can be explored collaboratively.
It welcomes artists, writers, philosophers, educators, heritage practitioners, and anyone with interests in the arts and humanities. The aim is to support accessible, thoughtful, and rigorous discussion, in a welcoming space.
The Elsewhere is not tied to a single format. Its shape changes according to the people who enter it, and may include:
-
small gatherings
-
guided discussions
-
creative prompts
-
workshops
- reseach presentations
- an online community for discussion and for quiet co-working
Sessions are designed to be welcoming. No prior knowledge is required, but curiousity and generous engagement is encouraged.
First Gatherings
The first gathering of The Elsewhere Studio will take place online, with an in‑person session to follow shortly after, in Nottinghamshire. The online format, hosted on Discord, allows people to join from anywhere, and future events will move between digital and physical spaces as the project develops.
Alongside these gatherings, The Elsewhere Studio will also host quiet co‑working sessions and open writing hours. These will offer a calm, structured space for people to work alongside one another, with optional check‑ins and gentle prompts.
Further details, including dates and access information, will be shared soon.
The first meetings will launch in Spring 2026

About the Host
The Elsewhere Studio was created by Dr Kerry Langsdale, a multidisciplinary artist and philosopher whose work explores time, temporality, and the role of art as a method of philosophical inquiry.
Langsdale’s practice is grounded in conceptual clarity and accessibility, creating environments where audiences can engage directly with philosophical ideas through workshops, performance, and collaborative exploration.
The Elsewhere continues this approach by offering a space for shared thinking across disciplines.
