Saturday 11th April
1pm - 4:15pm
Broadway Cinema
Nottingham
In 2009, Stephen Hawking hosted a time travellers' party. No one came. If we can’t outdo Hawking, we can at least have more fun!
So, come along to a Time Traveller's Party at Broadway Cinema. Past, present and future attendees are welcome! No prior knowledge, experience, or flux capacitors required.
Through group discussions, playful thought experiments and perhaps the odd time-themed game, we'll explore how time travel is portrayed in film, as it fractures, pauses, loops, and bumps into itself on the way back around.
We will watch short clips from a varied selection of films, ranging from the joyfully silly to the mildly mind-bending. Expect a few laughs, and the occasional head-scratch, as we look at how these stories shift the way we think about memory, choice and possibility.
Films may include, but are not limited to: Back to the Future, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, Frequently Asked Questions About Time Travel, The Infinite Two Minutes, Safety Not Guaranteed, Primer, The Endless, and La Jetée.
£20 full / £16 Broadway members & concessions / £13 under 25s
